Frequently asked
What does the free version include?
Matrix metering, ISO selection, and aperture/shutter axes are available to everyone. Saving captures (frameless) is included too.
What does Pro unlock?
Spot, centre, and depth-of-field metering modes; the full film stock library with reciprocity correction; shot warnings to help avoid failures; lens preview frames and sensor formats with framed photo saves; exposure compensation and ND filter offsets; and GPS location tagging on saved photos.
I purchased Pro but don’t see the features unlocked.
Open the LightCue paywall and tap Restore Purchases. This re-checks your entitlement with Apple. If it still doesn’t unlock, sign out and back into the App Store on your device, then try again.
Will it work without an internet connection?
Yes — the meter, film selection, and capture flow all work offline. The first launch and subscription verification need a network connection; after that the app caches your entitlement so you can use Pro features on aircraft, in the field, or anywhere else without coverage.
Why does LightCue ask for camera, photos, and location access?
The camera powers the meter. Photos lets the app save your captured frames. Location is optional and only used when you enable Save Location to GPS-tag photos as you save them. None of this data leaves your device. See the Privacy Policy for details.
How accurate is the meter?
The meter calibrates against your iPhone’s camera response and provides recommendations matched to film latitude. Treat it as a strong reference, not an absolute — testing your own film and lens combinations remains the gold standard for critical work.
